Howard Ranch Enterprises provides a unique opportunity for you to learn the various
skills that are a necessity for the true American Cowboy. The Howard Ranch is
a working cattle ranch that is comprised of 13,000 acres with 600 head of cattle and 40 head of horses.
Activities at the Cowboy & Cowgirl School include gathering, working, tagging, roping, and moving cattle.
Doctoring, sorting and branding the cattle are also a necessary part of operating a cattle ranch. The Howard Ranch still
practices the old-fashioned way of branding their cattle using a branding iron heated over a fire.
The instruction of horsemanship skills are another component of the Cowboy School. While attending the Cowboy School
you can go horseback riding or explore the ranch on a trail ride with or without a guide. By the day's end, everyone
can gather around to enjoy a Dutch oven meal and talk about the events of the day while witnessing
a beautiful Oklahoma sunset.
A customized ranch vacation is available which can be tailored to meet the level of your abilities,
skills and needs. Horses are provided for the trail rides and working cattle or you may bring your own horse.
The gathering and working of cattle along with the branding are scheduled activities. The Cowboy School
at the Howard Ranch is the perfect place to be a part of a working cattle ranch and learn the skills
of a real cowboy. Come visit us at the Howard Ranch in Northwestern Oklahoma to have an adventure
of a lifetime! The Howard Ranch Cowboy School is available by appointment. To schedule for your
